VU at AACRAO in Washington, DC

First Adopter Jane Sjogren of Johnson & Wales University and Penn VU Team member Luisa Boverini will conduct a demonstration workshop at the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) Annual Meeting in Washington, DC, on April 6, 2003 at 12:30 pm. The workshop will be facilitated by Jeffrey von Munkwitz-Smith, University Registrar at the University of Connecticut. Contact Pam Erney for more information.

2.05-Compatible Cases and Games

Joshua Powers Uploads New Cases and Games. Joshua Powers of Indiana State University has graciously shared his new 2.05-compatible cases and games with our user community. You can now download files for a liberal arts college and a public research university here.

Penn Team Cases/Games. A full set of the long-awaited 2.05-compatible versions of the Penn Team's cases and corresponding saved games will be available soon. When they are posted, the team will send an alert on our discussion list. A new case is expected to be posted at the beginning of February, and the remaining two by the end of that month. In the meantime, a new 2.05-compatible case and saved game for EXECUTIVE U is still available. Click here to dowload the files.

Training Video Now Available from DigitalMill

DigitalMill has developed a two-hour training video that walks users through Virtual U's features and functions. The video can be used by instructors to introduce students to the simulation or by administrators to train staff or faculty.

VU 2.05 Freeware Now Available for Download DigitalMill released Virtual U 2.05 in July of 2002. The new version includes bug fixes and additional features tailored for its use in the classroom. Read a feature describing the new capabilities of 2.0 in the April 2002 issue of Virtual Update. Download the updated software for free from the Virtual U home site.
Help Support Innovation:
Purchase a Boxed Set of VU 2.0
Help support continued innovation by purchasing a boxed set of Virtual U 2.0, which includes copies of all updated documentation. DigitalMill has committed to release a .1 revision for every 500 copies of the boxed set that are ordered. If every instructor using VU purchases one copy of this version, it will be more likely that the application will be continually refined—including the incorporation of instructor's suggestions for improvement that further tailor the game for classroom use.
Penn Team Announces Phone Support Is Now Available On-demand phone support providing assistance in using the application and tips for integrating VU in the classroom is now available from the Penn VU Team. Call Luisa Boverini, Graduate Assistant, at 215-573-7790 during regular business hours. If Ms. Boverini is not immediately available, she will return your call as soon as possible.
