Virtual Update is an online community and resource for higher education leaders, administrators, faculty members, staff, and students who use Virtual U in the classroom. It is intended to help users obtain information and ideas on applying the simulation when teaching about how colleges and universities function as enterprises. The site was designed to be a user-driven and user-derived clearinghouse that features approaches and materials you can adapt for integrating the application in course syllabi, training programs, administrative decision-making, and other campus activities. It also provides useful tips, technical information, relevant announcements, user training opportunities, and software updates. The site was developed with support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and builds on the work of the Penn VU Team, which has been charged with promoting the use of Virtual U as a higher education teaching tool and the development of its educational applications. In addition to administering this website, the Penn VU Team has been demonstrating the use of Virtual U at professional conferences, special organizational meetings, and first-adopter workshops. The Team works in conjunction with DigitalMill, the Jackson Hole Higher Education Group, and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to complement their efforts in supporting the development of the application and its uses. The key members of the Penn VU Team are:
